Bullet-proof whiteboards, drones, stop the bleed kits for classrooms—school districts are now among the biggest purchasers of such items. But experts say we can’t buy our way to safer schools, and point to intervention programs and stronger gun laws as better alternatives. “It’s good for business,” one security-gear salesman says. “But it’s not right. We need to solve this problem.”
