Trump Dumps Surgeon General Gun report

The Trump administration’s has removed the Surgeon General June 2024 advisory declaring gun violence a public health crisis from its website. When the advisory was originally issued, public health officials applauded the news. The American Medical Association declared gun violence a public health crisis in 2016. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for American children and adolescents.

This is the latest Trump move to roll back gun violence prevention progress under previous administrations. Soon after taking office, Trump shuttered the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention; he also installed background-check opponent Kash Patel as FBI head.

Colorado Ceasefire will continue to host the Report in its entirety here.
