Colorado’s Gun Violence Prevention for Parents & Guardians of K-12 Students (House Bill 25‑1250) requires school districts to post secure firearm storage information on their websites and provide it to parents and guardians at the start of each school year.
Colorado Ceasefire is a member of the Colorado Coalition Against Gun Violence. Coalition members are currently researching whether schools are sharing this information and (hopefully) identifying ways to increase participation and quality of information shared. We are asking our volunteer networks to help us collect this information.
If you are a parent or guardian of a student in a Colorado K-12 school, or a student yourself, will you complete this form and note whether your school has sent information about Safe Storage to families? It should only take 3-4 minutes to complete.
This form collects reports on when your local district has successfully shared that required information for the 2026–2027 school year. Your responses—whether complete or partial—help us understand which districts are meeting the law’s requirements and where additional outreach may be needed.
Thank you for contributing to this statewide effort to keep families and kids safe!
