CO AG Offers Free Online ERPO Training

We know that early intervention is the best way to stop gun violence. Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO) are an effective way to prevent a crisis from occurring, and—good news for Coloradans—the Colorado Department of Law has launched free online ERPO training for educators, family, and community members.

Training for educators: Designed for K–12 and higher education professionals, these primarily virtual trainings explore how ERPOs and related prevention tools can support safer schools and campuses. Sessions focus on recognizing warning signs, understanding available interventions, and coordinating appropriate responses.

Training for family and community members: This virtual ERPO informational webinar helps members of the public understand when an ERPO may be appropriate for a family member or loved one and explains the petitioning process, available resources, and key considerations under Colorado law.
