Some good news: Gun homicides in both Colorado and Denver are significantly down for the first six months of 2025, even below pre-pandemic levels, according to data collected by the Gun Violence Archive.
The GVA collects data from media and police reports, and is not ‘official’ government information. According to preliminary numbers, the first six months of 2025 have had the lowest number of gun homicides since at least 2019, both in Denver and Colorado at large.
