DENVER, MARCH 26, 2026 — Colorado Ceasefire PAC, Colorado’s longest-running grassroots gun violence prevention political action committee, today announced its endorsement of Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser in his campaign for Governor.
Weiser’s tenure as Attorney General has been marked by his steadfast support of common-sense gun violence prevention measures, including:
- Successfully defending before the Colorado Supreme Court Colorado’s 2013 law Prohibiting the transfer and possession of large capacity magazines
- Successfully defending a 2019 challenge to overturn Colorado’s Extreme Risk Protection Order law establishing an ERPO task force and obtaining a grant for ERPO training
- Currently defending Colorado’s recently-enacted assault weapons permitting program
- Suing the federal government and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to stop the ATF from returning ‘forced reset triggers’ which convert weapons into machine guns.
“Phil Weiser has proven himself to be a deliberate, thoughtful and consistent supporter of gun violence prevention, both in the Courts and at the Legislature,” said Colorado Ceasefire PAC Board President Mark Harris. “We are pleased to give him our endorsement and look forward to working with him as Governor.”
“I’m incredibly honored to be endorsed by Colorado Ceasefire PAC, a longstanding leader in advancing gun violence prevention across Colorado,” Phil Weiser said. “As Attorney General, I have worked with them to enact, implement, and defend common-sense gun safety laws that save lives. As governor, that partnership will continue as we work to advance solutions that save lives, protect victims and improve public safety.”
