After the murder of her father in the 2021 Boulder King Soopers shooting, Erika Mahoney is exploring the topics of gun violence, trauma and healing in her new podcast, ‘Senseless.’
The podcast has already made a splash, with the first episode climbing to #2 in Apple Podcast’s Society & Culture rankings.
“I wanted to speak out at that time fairly quickly to show the world that my dad was a human being, and that this was wrong, and he shouldn’t have been gunned down in a grocery store parking lot,” Mahoney told Fox 31 news. At the time of the shooting, she was working as a news director in Monterey, California. Since the shooting, she has had two children with her husband, and the family has moved back to Boulder.
‘Senseless’ is an eight-part series with new episodes released on Tuesdays.
